In The Aftermath of the Qana Disaster
After the last disaster (accident, coincidence, things happen in wars, etc. etc. but disaster it is when a lot of civilians, mostly children are killed!) in the Middle East and especially now in the nine days, maybe it is time to read Midrash Eikha and in that occasion, to look back at BeHukosai.
In BeHukosai, Go-d warns us against the false belief that our own strength and might are the basis for our well being, safety or whatever. Moreover, he promises that if we stick with that false belief and attribute the strengthening of our enemies (from suicide bombers to short range Qasam missiles to longer range Katyushas to middle range missiles over Haifa, etc.) to mere coincidence, than he, Go-d will bring upon us even worse coincidences.
In Midrash Eikha it says about the verse "HaQol Qol Ya'akov VeHayadaim Yedei Esaiv" that Balaam suggested to the enemies to check whether the Israelite children study Torah (the true voice of Jacob) or not. If they do then the voice of Jacob is wining, otherwise the hands of Esau do. And I say something beyond that, if we take the expertise of Esau (living on the sward) as ours, then it destroy the voice of Jacob altogether.
Since I already predict how many would attack me, I would say that I DO NOT WANT TO DISSOLVE THE ARMY and I DO NOT WANT TO CEASE DOING DIPLOMACY OR PALITICAL MANOUVERINGS. All I want is that we would acknowledge Go-d as the supreme power and try to walk in BeHukosaiv.
You probably do not understand the nature of Qadima party (or should I call them Ahora - backwards) that is now in power in Israel. It is the successor of Shinui, a vial secularist and Anti-Semitic (as in hating genuine Judaism and genuine Jews) party. This party is lead by one of the most corrupted and opportunist politicians I've ever encountered (and I know him for over 30 years.) These people, even if there would be a sward on their neck, they still would not acknowledge Go-d.
It is time that we should use all our influence on our brethren in Israel to remove this party and whatever it stands for from power and take another route.
